The mental health impacts of migraine

For World Mental Health Day, October 10th, Henrik Schytz, Associate Professor of Neurology, Denmark Headache Center, Denmark, discusses how awareness of the effects of migraine on mental health is needed. Co-morbid symptoms of migraine can include depression and anxiety, which are associated with both migraine itself and with quality of life impacts. People who don’t experience migraine need to be aware of the burden on mental health that migraine can bring, especially as it may be an invisible illness.
